Article nine thousand is <a href=\"https:\/\/gandhari.org\/dictionary\/mahaji\u1e6du\u1e43gha\"><b>mahaji\u1e6du\u1e43gha<\/b><\/a>, which occurs in a wooden document preserved in the Qinghai Tibetan Medical Culture Museum. This document is a ruling in regnal year 25 of King A\u1e43goka. It is the only attestation of <i>maha-<\/i> \u2018great\u2019 with the title <a href=\"https:\/\/gandhari.org\/dictionary\/ji\u1e6du\u1e43gha\"><b>ji\u1e6du\u1e43gha<\/b><\/a> \u2018palace attendant\u2019 (a Chinese title bestowed on the king of Krorayina). The fact that documents with later dates in the reign of A\u1e43goka do not use this title suggests that this may either be a copying error influenced by the use of <i>maha-<\/i> in other titles for this king (<a href=\"https:\/\/gandhari.org\/dictionary\/maharaya\"><b>maharaya<\/b><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gandhari.org\/dictionary\/maha\u1e43ta\"><b>maha\u1e43ta<\/b><\/a>), or a temporary claim to a grander title, or perhaps rather that it reflects a more ornate and flattering tone in this one document.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Dictionary of G\u0101ndh\u0101r\u012b has reached 9,000 articles, now with a total of 54,684 references.
