Article seven thousand is <a href=\"\/a_dictionary.php?searchs=pa\u1e0divivegakasa$\"><b>pa\u1e0divivegakasa<\/b><\/a>, from a fragmentary <a href=\"\/a_manuscript.php?catid=CKM0099\">Ekottarik\u0101gama<\/a> s\u016btra found at Bamiyan where it is the third in a set of (probably) ten terms, three of which are preserved:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\napichakasa satu\u1e6dhakaso pra[t]i[vi](*vegakasa) &#8230;<br \/>\n\u2018talk of few wishes, contented talk, talk about seclusion &#8230; \u2019<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Pali parallel to this s\u016btra (AN IV 357) gives the three as <i>appicchakath\u0101 santu\u1e6d\u1e6dhikath\u0101 pavivekakath\u0101<\/i>, and <i>pravivega\u2010<\/i> would certainly also be the expected term in G\u0101ndh\u0101r\u012b (cf. <a href=\"\/a_dictionary.php?searchs=pravivega$\"><b>pravivega<\/b><\/a> and <a href=\"\/a_dictionary.php?searchs=pravivitavihari$\"><b>pravivitavihari<\/b><\/a>). The editors of the Ekottarik\u0101gama fragment (<a href=\"\/a_bibliography.php?bib_id=Jantrasrisalai!_2016\">Jantrasrisalai, Lenz, Lin &amp; Salomon 2016<\/a>, 34) suggest an otherwise unattested G\u0101ndh\u0101r\u012b variation between the prefixes <i>pra\u2010<\/i> and <i>prati\u2010<\/i>, similar to the well\u2010known one between <i>pari\u2010<\/i> and <i>prati\u2010<\/i> (or rather <i>pari\u2010<\/i> [p\u0259\u027ei] and <i>pa\u1e0di\u2010<\/i> [p\u0259\u027di]). No less likely, however, seems a phonetic slip from correct <i>pravivega\u2010<\/i> [p\u027e\u0259\u028bi\u028be\u02d0j\u0259] to [p\u027e\u0259\u00f0i\u028be\u02d0j\u0259], suggesting an alternative reconstruction <i>pra[t]i[ve]\ufeff(*gakasa)<\/i> that would be consistent with the remains of writing on the fragment. The feasibility of such a phonetic confusion is shown by <a href=\"\/a_dictionary.php?searchs=chadi$\"><i>cha\u1e0fi<\/i><\/a>, corresponding to OIA <i>chavi<\/i> in a G\u0101ndh\u0101r\u012b <a href=\"\/a_manuscript.php?catid=CKM0237\">Sa\u1e43yukt\u0101gama\u2010type<\/a> s\u016btra.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Dictionary of G\u0101ndh\u0101r\u012b has reached 7,000 articles with a total of 35,967 references.
